2011 Feedback:

1.  Riders should wear emergency ID with family member name or have it on the entry.
2.  Don't allow kids in the Kids Int. class to ride an 85cc bike.
3.  Increase course length to around 7-9 miles and the race length to 2 hrs.
4.  Create a 30+B class (or an Intermediate class between Novice & XC).
5.  Move 40+B class up behind the A riders.
6.  Need more than 2 porta johns.
7.  Start the Girls class before Kids Intermediate class.
8.  Have the Kids/Women's race Saturday afternoon after practice / Main Event 9am Sun.
9.  No working on a rider's start area.
10. Don't allow the Beginners to do the obstacle sections.
11. Restructure classes.
12. Become an AMA sanctioned series.
13. Change the rule about some working breaks a tie at the end of the year.
14. Put different pictures on plaques for different classes at a couple rounds.
15. Add a 60+ class.
16. Don't estimate when to give white flag and just end it at 1.5 hrs in.

Reasoning / Other Responses:

#1, Riders should wear emergency ID with family member name or have it on entry:

-very good idea. The details would have to be worked out but information on who to look for should be available in case a rider gets injured.

-agree, this is a very good idea.

#2, Don't allow kids in the Kids Int. class to ride an 85cc bike.

-The kids winning the intermediate class on 85's are running close to the winning times of the veteran class.  Just trying to give all the other kids on 65's a chance to win.

-If you do this you will then have to limit the Vet class and girls classes(in both you have a range of cc's allowed). Some children that fall in the age group for Int. are too big to ride 65's.

#3, Increase course lengths to 7-9 miles and the race lengths to 2 hours.

-The added course length would be great since the series is so popular and would reduce the number of riders per mile of race course.

#4, Create a 30+ B class.

-Not sure how your database looks with the combo of nov/novlites who are over 30, maybe it would be enough to create this class.  If not I really think we need an Intermediate class between Novice & XC.

-An intermediate class would be great because people are to fast for the novice classes but aren't fast enough to ride I'n the xc classes and be competitive this would have novice riders move up an would also pull beginner riders up because the novice classes wont be as fast as they are.

#5, Move 40+B class up behind the A riders.

-Juniors and Novice are basically beginner classes, passes start on the very 1st lap and usually never stop all race.

-disagree, novice class top 5 usually are top 30 overall and sane goes for novice lites. Beginners really? ...If anything just put them in front of junior but.I'm not even 100% on that.

-agree, I think the 40B class should atleast start in front of the Jrs. if not behind the 40A class, I get held up by all of the junior riders and alot of the novice riders.

-disagree, first 5 rounds of 2011 clearly shows that Senior B doesn't belong in front of the Novice or Novice Lite riders.  In fact, the overall  stats for all  5 rounds  is not enough proof the Senior A should be in front of the Novice class.   However, putting the Senior B class before the Juniors class looks like it may be a good idea for some.

#6, Need more than 2 porta johns.

-They were bad at ______ / we had our trailer but a couple friends tried to use them but came over to ask to use ours...a lot of people that come and do not have RV's, and as LACC continues to grow, also hotter weather the conditions will get worse.

-More porta potty - totally agree. With the number of people attending need more.

#7, Start the Girls class before the Kids Int. class.

-The int. class is a big class and the girls are being held up on the first lap.

-The girls class is not that much smaller than the Int group and you would have the same problem where the Int kids have to work through the girls

#8, Have Kids/Women's race Sat. afternoon after practice / Main Event Sunday Morning at 9am.

-(no comments yet)

#9, No working on a rider's start area.

-It gives an unfair “advantage” to the ones that go down there and “work” on their line… the AMA doesn’t allow it, and I’m not sure but I bet the other series don’t either..you oughta let the riders “pick” based on their previous year class/overall finish…

#10, Don't allow the Beginner riders to do the obstacle sections.

-If the rider has the capability to execute the extreme obstacles their riding ability is beyond a beginner level class.

#11, Restructure classes.

-What if you changed up the class structure a little bit.  How about something like this:

"AA" or XC1 and XC2

"A" open or Novice

"A" lights or Novice lights

"B" open or Intermediate

"B" lights or I lights

"C" open or Beginner

"C" lights    And soo on. Not saying a hundred classes like _____ has, but spread it out a little. That seems like enough rite there. Could have an old man class or two.

#12, Become an AMA sanctioned series.

-AMA is fighting for us in Washington and everyone should support the AMA, also would help if you wanted to do co-sanctioned events with other series who are AMA sanctioned.

#13, Change the rule about someone working a round breaks a tie at the end of the year.

-no comments yet

#14, Put different pictures on plaques for different classes at a couple rounds.

-Just wondering if it would be possible maybe one or two races a year the plaque have a picture of a person racing in the particular class there racing in! I know it would be kinda time consuming but I think the kids would think its cool to be on a trophy! In other words a different picture for each class.

#15, Add a 60+ class.

-Why no class?  If you never post a class you will never get any riders. Bad decision.

#16, Don't estimate when to give white flag and just end it at 1.5 hrs in.

-it will give consistency to the race lengths and easier for your scoring crew - won't have to know who's in the lead, etc.  Show a clock so riders know where they are in the race.
