October 2011 Interview with TX's Bryan Vaughan

By Lucas Comeaux

Bryan Vaughan from Pittsburg, TX has been on a roll lately and only one point back from the overall LACC Series championship behind Jason Harvey with only two rounds remaining - Vaughan is tied up with Andy Beebe in second place.  We took a minute to catch up with him.  Also make sure to read our last interview with Vaughan that's a bit more in depth HERE.

Hey man, what's going on?

Ah not much just heading home from practice for a local race over here.  It's only about 40 minutes from my house so I had to come do it.  It's a TCCRA Round.

Cool, didn't Cameron Ishmael already wrap that up?

Yeh Cameron has it wrapped up, this is the last race and he already has it wrapped up.

Is he there?  How 'bout Kirkpatrick?

Yes Cameron's still going to race, I rode with him today.  Nah I think Kirkpatrick's going to race the TORO series.

So you've been on fire lately in the LACC Series, congrats on that last overall win!

Yeh I'm definitely feeling better now, it took a little while to get over the whole knee thing but now I feel like I'm at least back up to where I was before I broke it.

So back at 100%?

Yeh I think I'm back where I was, maybe even better.  I'm striving to get up to 120%!

You missed one due to injury and mechanical DNF at another...not a whole lot of room for error going into these last two.

We're definitely keeping these bikes in ship shape, I'm not taking any chances on mechanical dnf's, that for sure, I can't afford them.

Heavy Duty Tubes or mousses?

I run mousses, always. I've pinched a tube at a sand track...I don't want to take the chance.

Now that you've ridden KTM's for a while - do you like those over the Kawasaki's?

Yes I'm feeling more comfortable on the KTM 250 XC than I was on the Kawasaki four stroke, that's for sure.  I'm just more of a two stroke type rider, I can't really get the four stroke thing figured out.

Assuming you finish in the Top 3 at the end of the year, would you want to be on the top LACC Pro team at The Off-Road Cup in February?

Oh Yeh that's definitely a good possibility if everything pans out.
