     The Perry Mountain 24 Hour Endurance Challenge received two of the biggest upsets in race history! The first came in the form of torrential rains and dangerous lighting that forced officials to pause the race for the first time since it's inception. The second upset came when the underdog team of young teenagers, The LACC Bayou Boys, consisting of riders ages 14,15 and 16, dominated the Sportsman 250 Class!

     The LACC Bayou Boys got off to a strong start and by nightfall had built an 18 minute lead over their competition and moved into the 17th overall position. Torrential rain and lightning paused the race for 4 hours and at 11:30 pm the race resumed. Restart protocol started  the racers 10 seconds apart erasing their 18 minute lead. Undaunted, the team took turns challenging the dark and treacherous coarse and continued laying down solid consistent laps and once again pulled away from their competitors. The "Boys" fought hard to climb back into the top 20 but mechanical trouble kept their charge at bay. 24 hours, 3 flat tires, a busted clutch cover, one head light, 33 gallons of gas and one impound bike after the start, the "Bayou Boys" rolled their Cab-Door 200 XCW across the finish line to receive the checkered flag over one lap ahead of second place team Blue and Grey!

     The LACC Bayou Boys, consisting of racers Jake Haddox, Hutton Woods, Brayton Broussard, Evan Shows, Brett Fontenot and Russ Wiggers as-well-as the rest of the team, would like to thank everyone who helped and supported them, and couldn't have done it without Ken Geautreau, LACC, Pat and Mary LaBiche, Darin Lafleur, Dual Judice and ADR!

South Louisiana's Stephen Breaux (KTM) had an unfortunate practice crash / knee injury which will be taking him out of the Perry Mountain 24 Hour Challenge (member of the LACC Bayou Boys Team).  Hutton Woods (Yam) - who is currently undefeated in the LACC Series Junior 14-16 class will be filling in for Breaux.
