Born 4/24/12, a little early weighing in at 4lb 3oz.

Andy made the wise decision to stay home this past weekend and skip Rnd 2 of the LACC Series...only 8 of 10 count for year-end awards.

Howell on his first Overall LACC Win:  "It feels great to get the season started off with a win. The race didn't start off too good with me going down in the first turn, but I was able to make some quick passes and get into the lead on lap 3. I had a lot of fun and I'm excited for Round two. I would like to thank the LACC staff and workers for putting on a great event and also, JM suspension, SMS KTM, Answer, Motorex, FMF, and my parents."

Congrats to Kelly Crenshaw who edged out Stephen Reed by exactly 1 minute!  Crenshaw will receive a free AcadianaRacing.com t-shirt.  Thanks to everyone else who sent in your guesses; several got it correct...this Enduro / Hare Scramble racer from Louisiana is Bruce Comeaux - one of the core staff members of the LACC Series.
Kids, this is back when bikes were air cooled, had drum brakes, dual shocks, metal tanks, etc...
The action shot was taken at the Turkey Creek Round of the "LA Hare Scramble Championship Series" - bike is a late seventies Husqvarna 2-stroke 390.  This rider went on to race Husky 420 and 430 auto's in the early eighties and was a top 20 rider in the Southern Enduro Riders Association.  Click photo to enlarge.

LACC Series' XC1 front-runner Stephen Sturges won the Ironman Open class / 2nd Overall Ironman at the 2011 Perry Mountain 24 Hour Challenge.

Read his full report HERE.

Sturges:  "....I am extremely excited about my result this year at the Perry Mountain 24 hour Challenge, and was proud to represent the LACC Series.  The conditions were Hades hot, humid and extremely dusty, living up to being "the ultimate test of endurance, skill and strategy... "

From what we understand Sturges put in 37 laps (370 miles) in just 24 hours!

Thanks to the Van Way's for allowing a race, the long hours of course prep, and the thousands?? of gallons of water put down on the track!  Great ground conditions in the majority of the woods, many riders were able to conquer the optional extreme sections, and the large crowd was able to enjoy many nearby spectator areas.  Over 220 riders of all ages and from various southern states joined in the fun - thank you for attending and see you at Round 3  4/10!

...he may not be a young pup anymore but he can still ride!

We've run some calculations and past WORLD MX Champ Trampas Parker (KTM/Munn/Fly/Arai/TCP MX Schools) has wrapped up the
2010 LA Cross-Country Series Overall Championship
with one round to go!

"I had a blast this year and will be back again next year", said Parker.  "It was harder than some people think and I need to enjoy it because these guys are riding very well and will be coming after the title hard next year.  The series has brought fun back into riding for me, everyone is friendly at the races, and it’s just a great time..."

Staff member / Trail Boss Lucas Comeaux commented, "We're very honored to have Parker race the series and win the title.  The LACC Series #1 Championship plate, silver wine cooler, etc. will look great sitting on the shelf next to Parker's collection of motocross titles!"
